Your profile needs to identify you to your potential networking partner in only a few seconds, and as such, needs to be well thought through. Consider this an extension of your marketing plan, and approach it as such. Your profile page begins with a few details about you. Obvious ones like names are necessary, but the rest are a matter of choice. However, we must remind you that operating systems such as iExec are regularly crawled by web crawlers, and to make a marketing impact for your organisation requires being found, and communicated with.
The second part of the exercise is your company’s information. This includes a detail about your company and your networking objectives. Remember to be as detailed as possible here, and remember to make use of as many keywords as possible. These feature highly in our networking comparison engine. Remember to start with as many generic, well used keywords, and follow this up with a brief explanation should these keywords refer to an area of expertise ie: Accountant is pretty generic, however the specialities involved, such as fund accounting etc and more specialised. A section is available detailing your professional accreditations, which will further enhance your expertise, resulting in a better level of recognition and a favourable networking experience. Make a note of all your trade associations and memberships too...Another fundamental element in gaining recognition of your expertise, and your company’s professionalism.
Finally...a picture says a thousand words. Uploading your pictures is a great way to get hits on your profile, and whilst we all love to see those holiday snapshots in the Canaries, your potential networking partners may be more interested in seeing you, your colleagues’ and possibly pictures relating to your business.
